Radiation-Free PCNL Workshop (Ultrasound-guided Technique)
Philippines – China Joint Session

Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) is the surgery of choice for large kidney stones. Inserting a needle into an appropriate location of the kidney is the most critical step in this surgery, and almost all urologists in the United States, Europe and even here in our country use x-ray to guide a needle. However, accumulation of radiation in a patient’s body can lead to long-term side effects including cancer. With the introduction of PCNL under ultrasound guidance, a new era of radiation-free procedures for kidney stone treatment has begun. In the lead in this era is Prof. Jianxing Li, a urologist from China who has already performed more than 20,000 radiation free PCNL cases. Take advantage of this opportunity to learn directly from Prof. Li with hands-on training models for ultrasound-guided percutaneous renal access.
